Below are some of the most frequently asked questions that might help you:
How does it work?
The active ingredient in both IBSACOL and ECZACOL (Lyproxea) improves immune system responses to inflammation which in turn provides relief from the symptoms of IBS and eczema respectively.
How will I know that IBSACOL is working?
When you notice a decrease in urgency and frequency of bowel motions. A reduction in the number of daily bowel motions is normal and does not herald constipation developing. A reduction in the dose of IBSACOL will affect the frequency of bowel motions.
How will I know that ECZACOL is working?
When you notice a relief from the itching and burning sensation as well as reduction in areas where you normally would have a rash or lesions. Over time you will hopefully see these areas disappear entirely. A reduction in the dose of ECZACOL will affect the effectiveness of the relief of your symptoms although over time you may find you are able to reduce your dose slightly.
When will my order arrive?
Although we will aim to get your order to you even sooner all products ordered within New Zealand will be delivered within 10 business days and shortly after for international deliveries.
Can IBSACOL give me constipation?
Many diarrhea-predominant customers have commented they think they are constipated when the diarrhea stops. This may or may not be true; normal may feel very strange for a little while. Not having diarrhea is not the same as being constipated, but it may feel that way to begin with. Be patient. Perhaps you might be a little constipated, and then it is time to reduce your dose to suit. You will learn to recognise what "normal" can be for you personally. No-one else can tell you.
I have Crohns or Ulcerative Colitis - can IBSACOL help me?
If you are suffering from Inflammatory Bowel Disease or IBD, Crohns, Ulcerative Colitis or auto-immune related symptoms, IBSACOL is not suitable for your condition. Please speak to your family doctor for more information on available treatments.
I've had my gall bladder removed. Can I still use IBSACOL or ECZACOL?
IBSACOL and ECZACOL both contain fatty acids and therefore requires bile salts and lipase to assimilate it. If your diet is NOT severely restricted after your cholecystectomy (gall bladder removed) then you could try IBSACOL or ECZACOL. Begin at a low dose of 1 capsule taken twice daily.
If this is tolerated then dose may be slowly increased to improve symptoms.
Is hydration important?
It is important to drink 6-8 glasses of water per day.
Why should I drink 8 glasses (1 ~ 2 litres) of water daily ?
Chances are you are dehydrated if you don't. Did you know you are certainly dehydrated by the time your mouth tells you that you're thirsty? Unrecognised chronic dehydration is a major health problem. Some people count coffee, tea, colas and fruit juice as water. They are not, and in most cases they will dehydrate you even further. Your cells need water, pure water. We suggest starting a new habit -- drink half a glass of water each half hour during your day -- you will begin to feel so much better in most cases. Warm or hot water is best, but that's a personal choice. Any water is better than no water. Lyproxea has reportedly caused a headache in some people that always has been remedied by drinking more water.
Why does your label suggest avoiding alcohol 1 hour either side of taking?
This is precautionary advice to ensure that your stomach is not processing both alcohol and the capsule at the same time. Although we have not had any reports of negative side effects relating to alcohol consumption it is generally safer to avoid taking any type of medication with alcohol. We do recommend that when taking the capsules to drink a glass of water to help it on its way to the stomach.
